East Providence, RI, March 18, 2014– During an appearance on Dan Yorke State of Mind on WPRI-12, http://wpri.com/category/dan-yorke-state-of-mind, Karl Wadensten announced that he will not seek election for Rhode Island Governor in 2014.
“I have three major initiatives I am currently working on that I am passionate about. Number one – working to change our culture by fixing roads in Rhode Island; Number two – my work with the Office of Regulatory Reform and the RI Commerce Commission to make it easier to do business in Rhode Island; and Number three – to support the reshoring of American manufacturing via my role as Chair of a global manufacturing organization, speaking, and advocating for operational excellence. I need to see those initiatives through.”
Wadensten said that he has learned through decades of leadership experience that passion is an essential component of leadership. He indicated that he arrived at his decision after deep reflection and consideration, and was humbled by the support and words of encouragement he received.
“I promise to continue to be an advocate… a voice for action… a voice for business… and a voice for truth… and I promise to help fix Rhode Island’s roads and then report back on how we did.”
